Será Thiago Neves o próximo?

"Neves has come out of nowhere to be voted the Brazilian Player of the Season last campaign. The recognition for Thiago Neves was for his contribution to the Brazilian Cup-winning side of last season, a victory helped restore Fluminense to the prominent national position they once occupied, after years in the doldrums, after even spending a spell in the 3rd Division. That win earned the side a place in the 2008 Copa Libertadores, but despite having the least pedigree of all Brazilian teams in the tournament, Fluminense have out shone them all after finishing as gallant runners-up. Goals in the round of 16 against Atletico Nacional and in the semi finals against Boca Juniors, set up Flu’s historic first appearance at the final against LDU Quito, where he scored in the 4-2 defeat in the first leg. However, his feats until then were just the prelude to the best individual performance of the competition. A hat-trick in the return match helped drag Flu back into contention for the win, and it was tough on Thiago Neves that his outstanding contribution didn’t result in a winner’s medal, which he most thoroughly deserved. Not blessed with great pace, Thiago Neves more than makes up for it with an instinctive passing skill, and a handy eye for goal, thanks to a blistering shot. Several Spanish sides are thought to be looking at Thiago Neves, whilst FC Porto are also believed to be considering him as the ideal candidate to replace the departing Ricardo Quaresma. He already has one Brazilian cap and could go onto win a lot more. "
